Propecia

Propecia often shows good results, it can reverse hair loss to some extent. Many people choose to combine medicine with a hair transplant & are often very happy with the results. Many seek a more permanent solution to their thinning hair.

For whom?
Only for men, age 18-41 years

Propecia properties:

Used to stimulate hair growth in male pattern baldness, known as androgenetic alopecia, Propecia contains the active substance finasteride.

Background:

Male hair loss is often a combination of heredity and the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Elevated DHT shortens the hair growth phase and makes hair thinner.

Propecia reduces DHT levels, especially on the scalp, by blocking an enzyme (type II 5-alpha-reductase) that converts testosterone into DHT.

Results:

Men with mild to moderate hair loss can expect to benefit from using Propecia. Studies have shown that several men treated over a 5-year period have slowed down hair loss and at least half of these men also get some form of improved hair growth.

Important to know: Clinical studies have shown that Propecia does not work for female hair loss.

Usage:

The recommended dose is one tablet a day. Your doctor will help you decide if Propecia works for you. It is important to use Propecia for as long as your doctor prescribes.

Effect:

You have to wait 3-6 months for the full effect. Should you stop, it will return to normal probably within 9-12 months and lose what you have gained.
